Adapting The Witcher for the screen was always going to be a difficult task. While the franchise originated as a collection of short stories and novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, it was Sanderson is the only hard magic system I enjoy cus it's usually more tied to the character. Usually. I guess Witcher is soft magic but I think Sapkowski's style is an outlier in fantasy general. I've read a lot Discworld, Dresden Files ( Battle Ground was SO GOOD), LoTR, most of the Cosmere and Witcher. Started a couple others but wasn't into The Big Picture.
