Every time I start far cry 4 it closes. The only thing that works is the map editor and even then it is all in swedish (I am a native English speaker). how do i fix this?
did you open the steam version of the far cry 4 map edit program ? if so that may be the problem see this post , you may need to remove a reg entry due to a failed steam update in late march 2019 (it did not effect all steam users .. but some may need this )

Been playing for the past few days without any issues. Then today I decide to try out the level editor, so I install it and now the game won't launch. I've restarted the Uplay, Steam and my PC and all it does is start, then immediately stop. I even uninstalled the level editor to see if that was somehow an issue

KNOWN ISSUE. yes the steam version of the far cry 4 editor bricks the game. you have to edit your system registry to fix it ..and do not open the editor again or it will re brick your game. see this post , this is mentioned YES in the tips section pinned to the top of the player support forum here on steam in the troubleshooting tips post.

If you're not comfortable to try it, you could alternatively create a new Windows user account on your PC, and use that to run the game from. If that works, be sure to not run the map editor from that user account again, as that would again prevent the main game from working.

Yeah, the Map Editor program is called IGE_WPF64.exe and is in the Far Cry 4/bin folder, and can be launched by directly executing that file or a shortcut to that file, without opening the main game menu. but if you have it on steam it is a seperate appication that once you clik on it. then you will be prompted to install. you have to install it.
