I have problem with Mazda 6 , 2.2 diesel engine, the DPF light flashing (yellow), one fault code stored : P1336 CKP sensor/CMP sensor range/performance malfunction I checked the timing, timing chain was stretched , I changed it! after changing I reseted it with wire under boonet. the yellow light is still flashing , the fault is the same
The DPF light can come on for several reasons, if the DPF needs a regen, you have a sensor problem in the exhaust system,if the oil level reaches the Xmark, or the car needs a service (every 12500mls iirc). If the engine has an oil change and the ecu is'nt reset the DPF light will flash and the car will go into limp mode.

If you notice dpf regen has started, keep the revs steady at around 2200-2500 rpms until it finishes. It took around 6 minutes for mine to finish from start until end (cruise control engaged). I had a problem with a regen at around 3k rpms or more, when the engine speed was not steady and accelerating and braking.

Park the vehicle in a well ventilated area, pull the hand break up, hold the button down for a couple seconds and the DPF regeneration process will be initiated. Do not press any of the foot pedals while the process in ongoing. You may hear the engine idle sound change as the process is happening. Regards, .
